April showers in the fabric way

Wouldn't it be lovely if April Showers came in the form of fabric showers rather than rain (or if you are in Alberta, snow)?
Pretty colourful Fat Quarters falling from the sky ever so gently.  Dreamy
Or perhaps in your corner of the world you are tired of April Showers or dreary fall days and need some brightening up of your day. I think I have just the thing.

I have been asked to host a giveaway from a fantastic quilting shop.

Sew Sisters is a Canadian quilt shop dedicated to all things quilting.

For the past decade they have offered Canadian quilters great quality fabric, notions, books, kits and patterns, both in our store in Toronto and online.

At Sew Sisters we believe you should buy fabric, not postage! So we offer terrific shipping rates on orders within Canada.  They will also ship internationally too.  They also host weekly giveaways on Facebook

Look what will be raining down in the giveaway.
Timeless Treasures Basic Rain
10 FQ bundle  You can see more of it here

The colours remind me of my garden when it blooms with blue delphiniums, red petunias, yellow daisies, pink cosmos, purple irises and blue skies
My garden last June

If you would like this wonderful bright bundle to rain on you just leave me a comment of where you are from and your favourite flower.
If you are a follower or want to be leave a second comment for a second chance.

Giveaway open until Saturday April 19th
International comments welcome

Happy stitching or gardening if you are so lucky to be out doing such.

I love snowmen and I hope you do to!   This little wall hanging or table topper (14” square) could be yours.
For two chances to win all you have to do is:

1) leave me a comment telling me about your favourite holiday cookie.  I recently surveyed my family to see what their favourite was and they all chose the same one.  (Figures it was the one I like to make the least!) They all had a different second favourite, so I guess I better get baking soon.

2) why don’t you become a follower?  I love hearing from fellow bloggers from all over the world, so be sure to tell me where you are from too. (leave a second comment telling me you are now a follower)

I look forward to hearing from you.   I also look forward to checking out all the other BLOG PARTY participants tomorrow.

I will announce the winner on December 17th. Good luck everyone
Until next time,
Happy Stitching,

Lee
p.s. if I hit 110 followers I will add a little something extra to the giveaway!!

And the winner is....

The winner of my little giveaway is Katherine at Sew Me Something Good.
I had my son draw the names out of a bowl as he was walking by the computer.
Lucky for me, Katherine and I live in the same city. So when she is back from vacation and we have the kids all settled at school we are going to meet up.  Isn't that cool? I think we will meet at a quilt shop!! Then she can collect her winnings.

GIVEAWAY TIME!!!

As promised in previous posts, I said I would host a giveaway if I reached over 50 followers...well I have!!!.
Batting scraps!

I will keep the entry 'rules' pretty simple.

See this pile of batting scraps?  I have a few bags full of these scraps. For some reason I save them thinking there is a great use for them.  Can you help me come up with a way to use them.
Leave me a comment for their use and you are entered.  (simple enough)

For another chance to enter, become a follower of my blog!!

Oh you want to know what is up for grabs.

Well I made 'you' 3 little note cards (with envelopes) using up scraps (thanks Katherine for the idea),  1 of these medium pouches  which is one of my favourite gifts to sew and one charm pack of 'A Sip of Summer' from Connecting Threads.

A winner and an update

Finally a moment to pick a winner from my 100th blogiversary.

There were only 11 entrants

Nothing fancy when drawing the winner's name just the good ol' names in a basket, stirred up .......

Picked.....

And the winner is.......

Lisa Marie, a fellow Albertan, her blog is scrapsofthisandthat Congrats. I must say I have used her tip already... Number wooden clothes pin and clip to the rows before sewing them together.. They really work. Thanks I will get your pouches off in the mail, I hope this weekend.

Update:

I sent out my mini fall quilt to my partner in Alabama. She is living in her RV this year so i didn't make my mini quilt as a wall hanging, but rather as a table topper. Denise blogged about her quilt here.

I received this one from Carol. I love the fabric and her detail quilting of the oak leaves. Thanks so much.

Currently I am working on a string quilt for my niece as well as a little wall hanging for a friend's birthday. Haven't had as much time lately for sewing, too many soccer games, working days and housework.

What are you up to?
