all free motion quilting, and no marking. There are some wiggles but oh well. |
Still thinking about the large border |
continuous curves make some interesting desgins. |
Working on quilting my Postage Stamp Quilt. It's on my UFO list. (see left sidebar) I frequently call this Carey's Quilt because when I took it to show a friend the top it looked perfect on her husband Carey's comfy TV watching chair. So now when she asks me what I am working on, I reply "Carey's Quilt".
I am curious do you have a precise quilting plan when you start a quilt? Or are you more like me and change your mind a hundred times before you start and again while your quilting?
Happy stitching

I'm like you, start with one plan, end with another, changing it to suit my whim as I go along, with a few wiggles thrown in, too! I'm thinking BIG circles coming up soon for myself, but I think I'll mark them. Your postage stamp quilt looks quite marvelous.
ReplyDeleteI have NO idea how I'm going to quilt it, until I am done the top. I know I should be thinking of it as I make the top, and I do think about it, but I completely draw a blank. Deciding on a quilting design is the hardest thing for me.
ReplyDeleteI just don't know how you do it! I can't make a circle to save my life, let alone do it on a sewing machine! My quilting is all stippling, or stitch-in-the-ditch. That's a gorgeous quilt, would look good on my husband's chair too! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI try to have a plan, but it doesn't always work out like that. Your FMQ looks good!
ReplyDeleteYour FMQ looks wonderful! I spend far too much time deciding and then most of the time change my mind at the last moment.
ReplyDeleteYour work is superb. I often change my mind in the process then I end up with that tool we all learn to hate the "Stitch Ripper" and undo the first stitches I made. Yak!!!
ReplyDeleteLee! You are rocking the FMQ!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I hate marking, myself. :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a try-one-idea-and-then-another quilter here. Not all my quilts turn out as well as yours, well done!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great and the quilting is very nicely done.
